Angel Harps History
Founded in 2003, the Angel Harps mission is to help students with special needs and a variety of disabilities such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) by providing therapeutic harps to assist in the healing process.
Angel Harps has come a long way since it was first started on a shoestring by founder Dianna Woodley.
Woodley, then confined to a wheelchair, sold many personal keepsakes so she could award the first Angel Harp to Rosie Hernandez.

The Angel Harps mission tugged at the heart strings of noted sound therapists, harp makers, and professional harpists who now support the vision of Angel Harps through their work and by their participation in the annual non-profit benefit concert and other fund-raising efforts for harp therapy music for special needs children.
Blevins Harps, based in Colorado, designed a special 15 string lap harp so that children with disabilities could play it easily. Dwight Blevins provides the “Angel Harp” to Dianna Woodley at wholesale so that more children can benefit from harp therapy.
Angel Harps is supported by the generosity of huge companies like Kohl’s Department Stores but also attracts the valued support of local businesses and individuals who donate regularly or who sponsor the annual benefit concerts so that Angel Harps can continue growing and giving.
Harp therapy music has been found to assist in pain and stress relief as well as assisting in improving the quality of life for all those who hear it and play it.
